I'm thinking of buying this mercedes benz. It's 2001 and has 58 thousand miles on it. It's really nice in and out. Sunroof, leather seats, 6 cd changer etc…
The guy told me that he would sell it for $12000 but I offered him $9000. He refused it and I walked away. I came back to him the next day and offered him 10000 (Including tax, title fees). Again, he refused it. Now, we agreed on 10600 (Including tax, title fees and new sticker). He is even giving me 60 days warantty.
My brother told me not to buy it. And I liked the car. What should I do? Am I making the right decision?

It has rebuilt salvage title.
Thanks guys! The 60 days warranty will cover the engine, electrical and two other important things. He will pay for it (100%) if problem occurs during these 60 day period.

I bought a 2007 Scion Tc exactly one week ago knowing it was a salvaged title. The owner did not inform me there were no airbags, but I did not ask him. Can I take him to small claims court? Isn't it illegal to sell a car without airbags?

Im 16 years old and looking to buy a car for cheap, because i have to pay for it myself. My friends sister in Law is selling a Acura Integra. It's the 1996 model, with a body kit, spoiler, and 92,000 miles. Its a salvaged title due to a minor accident in the front (didn't hurt the motor). Shes selling it for $4000 is it worth it. And will it be more expensive to get insurance? thanks.

So I have a 1999 Chrysler Cirrus which I purchased from my Moms co-worker she sold it to me for $1,200. She sells cars with her husband, before I purchased the car from her I did not do my research which has taught me a life lesson, always do research. They rebuild cars, which basically means my car is salvaged. I think the hood, front bumpers, and doors were replaced. She sales cars in Alabama and I live in Georgia so the car came from Alabama. The car has had an Alabama inspection and passed the inspection but since it is being used in Georgia it also needed a Georgia Inspection. So now this is were all the problems start. I was finally able to get a Georgia inspection, which when I had it inspected in cost $200 I also thought that I passed until I was told by the Dept. of Revenue that I did not pass. Now they are saying that I have to have it repaired, re-inspected and pay an additional $100 to the Dept. of Revenue which I find ridiculous. Also when I had it inspected the guy told me that my intire front end frame is bend, which by the way is very unsafe. So now this means I can not get a Tag because I do not have a title, I have been driving without a tag for almost 7months and a ticket for no tag is I think about $100-$200. And since I mailed the title into the Dept. of Revenue I can not show that its my car ( well almost I only owe $400). I have also tried to see if I could sell it for scrap and many places only want to give you $100 and also need a title. So now im stuck with this p.o.s. that has so many diff. issues. Should I try to trade it in and get another car which would possibly be illegal, or keep the car get it fixed and deal with it? Also the car is probably only worth $500, so that means I would be putting more money in than it is worth. This car has only brought me headache, I feel so lost…

I'm planning on buying a 01 Honda Civic EX at a local dealership. The car has aftermarket exhaust, rims, and cd-face plate…but the CarFax report showed the vehicle was sold at an auction, which makes me wonder: with a nice car like this, why would someone put it up for auction in the first place??? Other than it being a repossesed vehicle (CarFax gives it the buyback gaurantee by the way–not a junked/salvaged) does anyone know why this car could have been sold at an auction? Thanks!

My 95 Camry just died (Transmission shot). I know there are items in that car that are worth $$$. I am thinking I can make more than the local yards will give me (Which is around $150).
I can think of a few items off the bat people would want:
Stereo
Alternator
Master Window Switch
New Tires
Lexus Chrome Rims
New Battery
And many other odds and ends I can sell on ebay…
I have plenty of spare time, I am very handy, and I might be a great way to learn about car repairs (Tearing it down, following the Chilton manuals…)
Now, the final question: Say I sell my tires and rims, can a tow truck yank it away with tires and rims? I will have to roll it backwards into my alley fist somehow… (Flatbed I assume I wonder if AAA will cover that…

1996 Integra SE silver theft salvage, insurance paid me upper value of blue book (~6K). 103K miles, leather seats, automatic, silver. Thieves stole front two seats, radio, and distributor. However, they cut the wire harness to get the distributor, so insurance paid me for the car instead. I bought the car back thinking I'd fix it, but decided I want to sell it. I thought I was doing a co-worker a favor by selling it to him for $900 (To cover my deductible and what the insurance sold me the car for. I was honest about everything regarding the car), but he keeps asking me for help on the DMV fees to get the car street worthy again. Should I just say he already got a good price and too bad? I already budged and said I'd pay for the smog, but I don't want to pay for anything else (ie brake and light check, registrations fees, etc.). Am I being fair?

i bought a car in february of this year at a local dealer. this car has been given me so much trouble with oil leaking, breaks, and now like 2 weeks ago i went to a mechanic and i found out that the suspension of both front tires were loose. So then we inspection the car, and we found out that the left side of the vehicle might of bein replaced with some other type of material. and the color was slightly different, then we looked at the front light of the left side too, and you can totally see that it was pasted again with some glue that now is tearig apart. so we came up with a conclusion that the car might of bein involved in a major crash, and they repair it not that well because all of the suspension thing and oil etc. so if this would be the case, then guy that sold us the car might of given us a salvage title right ??? and if this is a salvage car, could this be a felony ? what can i do ??
